Getting Started

What is ZS StoreSync?
It's a specialized Shopify app that allows you to migrate products, collections, pages, and more directly from one Shopify store to another without using CSV files.
Do I need both stores to be active?
Yes, both the source store and destination store must be active Shopify stores that you have administrator access to.
How do I install the app?
Simply install ZS StoreSync from the Shopify App Store into your destination store (the store you want to move data into).
Is there a free trial?
We offer a Free Plan that allows you to migrate up to 100 items, which serves as a trial for all new users.
Can I use it for a one-time move?
Absolutely. Many users use our app for a single migration and then uninstall it.
Which store is the "Source"?
The source store is the "Old" store where your data currently exists. The destination store is where the data will be copied to.

Migration Details

What can I migrate exactly?
Depending on your plan, you can migrate Products, Collections, Pages, Files, Metaobjects, Metafields, and even Orders/Customers.
Will my product images be copied?
Yes, ZS StoreSync automatically fetches images from the source store and uploads them to your new store.
Does it support product variants?
Yes, all product variants, options, and their respective prices/SKUs are migrated perfectly.
How long does a migration take?
It depends on the volume of data. Small stores take seconds, while large catalogs with thousands of items may take a few minutes.
Can I migrate only specific products?
Currently, you can migrate all products of a specific type or collection. Granular item selection is on our roadmap.
What happens to the "Handle" of the page?
The handles (URLs) are preserved. If the handle is available in the destination store, it will be kept exactly as it was.

Sync & Duplicates

What is "Sync Changes"?
Sync Changes only transfers items that don't exist in the destination store yet, preventing you from re-migrating everything.
Will I get duplicate products?
No. StoreSync checks for existing SKUs and handles before creating any item. If a match is found, it is skipped.
How does the app match duplicates?
Products are matched first by SKU and then by the URL handle. Collections and Pages are matched by their handle.
Can I update prices of existing products via sync?
Currently, Sync only adds new items. Updating fields of existing items is a feature we are actively developing.
What if I changed the SKU in my old store?
If the SKU is changed, the app may see it as a new product. We recommend keeping SKUs consistent for accurate syncing.
Is the sync process automatic?
No, sync is a manual trigger. You click "Sync Changes" whenever you want to pull the latest data from your source store.

Plans & Quotas

How is the "Item Quota" calculated?
Each individual product, collection, or page that is successfully created in your destination store counts as one item.
Do skipped duplicates count toward my quota?
No. Only items that are actually created are counted. Skipped items are free.
When does my monthly quota reset?
Your quota resets every 30 days from the date of your subscription.
Can I upgrade my plan mid-month?
Yes, you can upgrade at any time from the Plans page. The new quota will be applied immediately.
What happens if I hit my limit?
The migration will stop at the limit. You can either upgrade your plan or wait for the next billing cycle to continue.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. All costs are transparent and billed directly through your Shopify admin.

Security & Privacy

Do you store my product data?
No. We are a pass-through tool. Data moves directly from Shopify Store A to Shopify Store B via API. We never store your content.
Is my data encrypted?
Yes, all communications between our app and Shopify are conducted over HTTPS and encrypted using industry-standard TLS.
What permissions does the app need?
The app needs "write_products", "read_products", "write_content", and "read_content" permissions to move the data.
Is ZS StoreSync GDPR compliant?
Yes. Since we do not store any personal customer data on our servers, we comply with GDPR and CCPA standards.
Can you access my store's payment info?
No. We have zero access to your credit card details or payment gateways. All billing is handled by Shopify.
What happens if I uninstall the app?
Once uninstalled, we immediately delete the authorization tokens associated with your store. Your migrated data remains in your store.

Technical Help

Why does my store say "Needs Auth"?
This means the source store hasn't granted permission yet. Click the "Authorize" button and approve the app in the new tab.
Some items are marked as "Failed". Why?
Failures usually occur due to invalid characters in a field or if the source image URL is no longer reachable.
The migration stopped halfway. What happened?
This usually happens if you reach your plan's quota or if there was a temporary Shopify API timeout. Check your "History" tab for logs.
Can I migrate custom liquid code in descriptions?
Yes, we migrate the HTML content of the description. However, if the code relies on a specific theme file, you must copy that file manually.
Why are some images not appearing?
Images are re-uploaded from the source URL. If the image was deleted from the source store before migration, it cannot be copied.
How do I clear a failed migration?
Simply run a new migration. Since we have built-in duplicate handling, you don't need to delete the partially migrated items.
